Professor Saptarshi Ghosh is a distinguished academic in the Department of Library & Information Science at the University of North Bengal. During his career at the university, which spanned over two decades, he progressed from Assistant Professor to his current role as Professor. His extensive experience includes teaching undergraduate, postgraduate, and M.Phil. courses and guiding doctoral students.

Prof. Ghosh's research interests encompass the sociology of information, web technology in LIS, and the development of software tools for LIS professionals. He has authored numerous scholarly articles and has actively contributed to various national and international seminars. He has also held several leadership positions, including Head of the Department, Member of the University Court, and Dy Director of HRDC. Prof. Ghosh is a member of several prestigious library associations in India and abroad.
